What Blindspot processes
Blindspot analyses public posts and videos that users submit through the website or share with the Blindspot Instagram account. It processes the public source, its caption, audio, visible text, frames, and relevant public evidence.
Instagram messages
For Instagram submissions, Blindspot stores the minimum channel identifiers needed to reply, prevent duplicate processing, enforce the beta allowance, and deliver the report. It does not use submitted posts to build advertising or political-interest profiles.
Beta analytics and feedback
During the beta, Blindspot records IP address, browser/device information, referring page, submission channel, report views, and optional report feedback. This information is available only to authorized operators and is used to understand reliability, prevent abuse, and improve analysis quality. An Instagram report link may contain an opaque token that attributes feedback to the delivery without exposing the sender's identity in the URL.
Retention and public reports
Downloaded source media is deleted after analysis. Derived report artifacts and public report pages may remain available because they document public content and its cited evidence. The identity of the person who submitted a post is never shown on the public report.
Deletion and deauthorization
Disconnecting the Blindspot Instagram integration removes the stored Instagram access token. A valid Meta data-deletion request removes the corresponding Instagram connection and message associations. Public reports may remain without any submitter association.
