Misleading

Real 6-7% mileage loss, taxes making up half the price, and 2002 BJP bonds plus UPA oil bonds are confirmed. None show deliberate car damage, moisture absorption causing engine failure in normal cars, or a unified scam across parties.

Why we say that

Creator's own Jaguar E20 breakdown claim stays unverified.

His personal car story and mechanic quotes have zero outside confirmation. NITI Aayog and government data show only 6-7% mileage loss, not 34% or engine failure in normal use. Oil bonds, taxes and the 2012 Yogita case facts are real but twisted into equal blame on all parties as thieves.

Based on only a few sources, so read this as a first look, not the last word.

The facts don't add up to the point it's making

Real 6-7% mileage loss, taxes making up half the price, and 2002 BJP bonds plus UPA oil bonds are confirmed. None show deliberate car damage, moisture absorption causing engine failure in normal cars, or a unified scam across parties. Personal Jaguar story and mechanic claims have no outside support.

What it leaves out

NITI Aayog states only 6-7% mileage loss for E20 and says engine modifications can reduce it further. It does not support 34% drop or widespread engine failure claims.

Claims

  • Couldn't check

A 75 lakh rupees Jaguar with only about 30,000 km on it developed problems after using E20 petrol in 2021.

    What's actually true

We couldn't verify this claim with a reliable source. Only this reel and its copies exist. No workshop report, news story or owner confirmation from 2021 was found.

  • Couldn't check

The mechanic said that the calorific value of E20 ethanol petrol is much lower than regular petrol.

    What's actually true

We couldn't verify this claim with a reliable source. Mechanic's exact words cannot be checked independently. Government data shows only marginal efficiency drop for E20.

  • Couldn't check

A car that previously ran 14 km per liter on regular petrol now runs only about 12 km per liter on E20.

    What's actually true

We couldn't verify this claim with a reliable source. NITI Aayog reports 6-7% efficiency loss for unmodified cars, close to the claimed drop. Government says critiques of drastic reduction are misplaced.

  • Couldn't check

E20 petrol has 34 percent lower energy density according to NITI Aayog.

    What's actually true

We couldn't verify this claim with a reliable source. NITI Aayog report says 6-7% fuel efficiency loss, not 34% energy density drop.

  • Couldn't check

E20 ethanol absorbs moisture from the environment which enters the fuel tank of high performance cars like Jaguar causing engine problems.

    What's actually true

We couldn't verify this claim with a reliable source. No sources confirm this effect routinely damages high-performance cars. Official reports do not list it as a major issue.

  • Couldn't check

Using E20 will cause damage to fuel system, cracks in rubber pipes, hardened seals, and fuel pump failure.

    What's actually true

We couldn't verify this claim with a reliable source. No government or technical sources confirm these failures for E20 in normal modern cars. Older vehicles had such risks with higher ethanol blends.

  • Couldn't check

Two years ago, 100% petrol was available at pumps for about 80-90 rupees per liter; now it is sold as P100 for about 150 rupees per liter despite lower global crude oil prices.

    What's actually true

We couldn't verify this claim with a reliable source. P100 now costs around 165-170 rupees in some cities. Earlier prices near 90-100 rupees fit roughly but crude prices varied. Exact "despite lower crude" claim not fully confirmed.

  • Couldn't check

The government is mainly collecting VAT and excise duty from petrol sales.

    What's actually true

Taxes make up nearly 45-50% of India's petrol price.

  • Couldn't check

The government has collected 1.48 lakh crore rupees through cess and central tax on petrol.

    What's actually true

Searches found references to similar sized oil bond totals but no exact match for this cess and central tax figure.

  • Couldn't check

Yogita worked in Gadkari's house and there are contradictions, cover-up, and evidence destruction in the investigation of her death.

    What's actually true

Police initially registered murder and evidence destruction case. Postmortem showed injuries and blood stains. Panchnama and car details changed. High Court criticised the probe.

  • True

During the Congress government's time, oil bonds worth several lakh crore rupees were left as debt in India.

    What's actually true

UPA-era oil bonds totalled around Rs 1.4 lakh crore. Bonds began in 2002 under BJP.

  • True

In 2002, the BJP government issued 9,000 crore rupees in oil bonds.

    What's actually true

Government issued exactly Rs 9,000 crore bonds in March 2002 to clear 80% of oil pool deficit.

  • True

The government issues Rs 9,000 crore bonds to oil PSUs.

    What's actually true

Exactly what happened in 2002 per official release.

  • True

The government has issued bonds worth Rs 9,000 crore to state-run oil companies to liquidate about 80 per cent of their outstandings with the oil pool account.

    What's actually true

Official 2002 statement confirms this exact action on March 30.

What else it leaves out (3)
  • Modern cars designed for E20 have compatible materials. Moisture absorption and rubber cracks mainly affected very old vehicles with high ethanol blends.
  • Petrol taxes fund roads and subsidies. Global crude prices fluctuate and do not directly set pump prices.
  • Oil bonds were issued by both BJP in 2002 and Congress-led UPA later. The reel equates them without noting differences in scale and maturity.
How it's framed (5)
Personal story as proof - Creator shows his own damaged Jaguar on tow truck to establish credibility of E20 damage claim before broader critique.
Conspiracy implication - Portrays E20 and high P100 prices as deliberate strategy to extract taxes while damaging cars, blaming both Congress and BJP as "all thieves".
Guessing at motives - Attributes high taxes and oil bonds to exploitation across parties and teases Gadkari-Yogita scandal as cover-up.
Fear appeal - Warns every car owner must watch because E20 will damage engines, reduce mileage and cost more despite cheap crude.
Clips cut to suit the story - Uses 2002 Economic Times screenshot and torn-paper document on Yogita case to lend official credibility.
