True, but exaggerated

Anna Hazare led the 2011 anti-corruption movement that highlighted the 2G scam among other issues.

Why we say that

The 2G audit and Hazare movement happened. Nothing proves they were a staged joke to make Modi PM.

Vinod Rai's 2010 audit flagged a ₹1.76 lakh crore presumptive loss in the 2G spectrum scam. Anna Hazare led the 2011 anti-corruption protests with Arvind Kejriwal, Kiran Bedi and others. Modi became PM in 2014 after campaigning against UPA corruption. The reel leaps from these facts to claim the whole sequence was a calculated political con.

Based on only a few sources, so read this as a first look, not the last word.

What it leaves out

The 2G audit was a public CAG report on policy decisions under the UPA government, not a personal allegation by one man.

From reporting

What else it leaves out (2)
  • The 2011 movement involved many public figures and parties across the spectrum protesting multiple scams, not a secret group of seven men.
  • Vinod Rai received the Padma Bhushan award in 2016 but did not head any award selection board.
How it's framed (3)
Irony/sarcasm - Labels the entire sequence the 'Biggest Joke' to imply the anti-corruption movement was hypocrisy or a staged ploy for power.
Narrative sequencing - Numbers individuals from 'first man' to 'seventh man' to suggest a causal chain from scam allegation to political rewards, implying coordination.
Meme format with overlay - Uses dramatic text, circular portraits and gym selfie background to present the story as viral sarcasm targeting the credibility of past activism now linked to the ruling party.
